Short Biography

Joe Brincat, born on March 5, 1970, in Ħamrun, Malta, is a distinguished former international footballer renowned for his significant contributions to Maltese football. He began his professional career with Ħamrun Spartans at the age of 17, playing a pivotal role in their championship-winning team that same year. Throughout his tenure with the Spartans, Brincat was instrumental in securing three Maltese Premier League titles, four FA Trophies, five Maltese Super Cups, and one Euro Cup. His exceptional performance earned him the Malta Football Association (MFA) Player of the Year award during his time with the club.

Brincat's illustrious career also included stints with Floriana, Birkirkara, and Sliema Wanderers, where he continued to demonstrate his skill and leadership on the field. On the international stage, he earned 103 caps for the Maltese national team, scoring six goals. He made his debut in October 1987 in a friendly against England B and remained a key player for the national team until his final appearance in 2004. As of 2017, Brincat ranked third in all-time appearances for Malta.

Off the field, Joe Brincat is married to Rita and is a proud father to two daughters, Beverly and Mariah. His legacy in Maltese football continues to inspire future generations.

Today, Joe Brincat continues to make his mark in his hometown of Ħamrun, where he runs a cozy caffetteria called Café Con Amici. Known for his passion, dedication, and professionalism—not only on the football field but now also in the catering business—Joe brings the same legendary spirit to his café. His commitment to serving his community reflects the heart and soul of a true Maltese icon.
