Our Story
The story of Bourga Collections began long before Bourga.com was created.
Back in 1997, I opened my first jewellery and watch shop in Qormi, Malta. The business operated successfully for 15 years, during a time when silver jewellery was at the height of fashion. Those years provided invaluable experience, allowing me to understand what customers truly value: quality, trust, and jewellery that can be worn and enjoyed every day.
After a period away from the industry, the world changed dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, I decided to return to the jewellery business with a fresh vision — to create a modern Maltese jewellery brand that combined years of experience with contemporary trends and online accessibility.
The name Bourga originates from my family surname, Borg. It represents not only a business, but also a personal commitment to building something meaningful, honest, and proudly Maltese.

The journey online was not always easy. Coming from a traditional retail background, I had to learn many new skills from scratch, including website management, digital marketing, photography, video editing, and e-commerce. These were skills that were not readily available to learn when I first started my career.
Through determination, countless hours of learning, and the support of good friends, particularly Mr Jean Pantalleresco, who played an important role in helping build Bourga.com, the vision gradually became a reality.
Today, Bourga Collections continues to grow and evolve. We are constantly working to improve our collections, enhance product quality, and offer our customers jewellery that reflects both style and durability. We collaborate with trusted international manufacturers and continually seek better materials, improved finishes, and innovative designs.
The year 2026 marked another important milestone with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence technologies, which helped us streamline many aspects of our business, reduce advertising costs, and dedicate more resources towards product design, creativity, and quality.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Miss Claire Marie Busuttil, one of the first faces of Bourga Collections. During the early years of the brand, Claire played an important role in helping us present our jewellery collections with elegance, confidence, and professionalism. Her contribution helped shape the visual identity of Bourga Collections and played a valuable part in introducing our designs to customers throughout our journey.

At Bourga Collections, we never stop looking for ways to improve. Every collection, every design, and every customer experience is an opportunity to take the brand to the next level. We firmly believe that growth comes from continuous learning, innovation, and passion.
